Welcome to Borås Zoo!

Just minutes from the heart of the city, Borås Zoo provides a beautiful natural haven. Our animal colliection is diverse, comprising around 65 species and 600 animals. Importantly, our modern exhibits emphasise and encourage natural animal behaviours. Living in exhibits that are as naturalistic as possible allows our animals to interact with each other on their own terms and promotes the animal's physical, psychological and social well-being. Main focus is to show the big African animals and Nordic wild animals. Our African savannah is one of our most exciting experiences.

Borås Zoo is located at Alidelundsgatan 11, Borås. The zoo is situated only 5-minute drive from Borås' city centre and just 1 km from Knalleland Trainstation (5 minutes walk).

Getting the most out of your visit:
Living in naturalistic exhibits allows the animals to interact with visitors or each other on their own terms. This helps assure their physical, psychological and social well-being. It also means that you may need to wait, watch and listen a little harder to spot some animals – just as though you were in the wild.

Getting around the zoo:
Ask for a zoo map at your arrival to help navigate your way around the zoo. You can hire wagons when you enter the zoo. Download our new mobile applikation "Borås Zoo" from AppStore or Android market.

What to bring:
Borås Zoo has a mixed environment of indoor and outdoor exhibits, however we are predominantly an outdoor environment and so we recommend that you dress/prepare for the weather as forecast. The entrance and giftshops sell affordable rain-ponchos and umbrellas if you get caught short. Don´t forget your camera. Capture your zoo day and favorite animals on film.

Food and drink:
Enjoy lunch or dinner in our Savannah restaurant or at the Bearcafé while wathing the wild animals just outside the window. There are several free BBQs and picnic tables available for your use.
